1. Introduction
The Uncommon Leadership Academy (ULA) is committed to the ethical, responsible, and transparent use of artificial intelligence (AI) in leadership development. This AI Code of Conduct establishes the guidelines, expectations, and limitations for using your AI Coaching Assistant, ensuring alignment with ULA’s leadership coaching philosophy, ethical AI standards, and Singapore’s AI Governance Framework.
By engaging with the AI Coaching Assistant, you agree to adhere to these principles and use the tool only as intended.
2. Principles of Ethical AI Use
When using your AI Coaching Assistant, you are expected to follow these core ethical principles:
✅ 2.1 AI as an Assistive Tool, Not a Replacement
✔ The AI Coaching Assistant is a leadership development tool designed to support self-reflection and growth—not to replace human judgment, mentorship, or decision-making.
✔ AI does not replace professional coaching, HR, legal, or psychological expertise.
✅ 2.2 Transparency & Responsible Engagement
✔ Users should understand AI’s role—it provides coaching insights based on structured frameworks but does not have personal judgment or emotions.
✔ AI responses should be reviewed critically, and any unclear or unexpected insights should be validated with a human coach, mentor, or leadership expert.
✅ 2.3 Respect for Data Privacy & Confidentiality
✔ Users must not enter confidential, sensitive, or personally identifiable information (PII) into the AI Coaching Assistant.
✔ ULA does not store or remember personal coaching details beyond a session. Users are responsible for protecting their own privacy.
✅ 2.4 Fairness & Bias Awareness
✔ Users should recognize that AI models are trained on diverse datasets but may still reflect inherent biases.
✔ Leadership decisions should always be made with human oversight, ensuring fairness and inclusivity.
3. Expected Uses of the AI Coaching Assistant
Your AI Coaching Assistant is designed to help develop leadership skills and enhance coaching effectiveness.
You may use the AI Coaching Assistant to:
✅ Reflect on leadership challenges and explore different coaching strategies.
✅ Receive structured coaching prompts aligned with the ULA 4C+ Model (Capability, Clarity, Confidence, Consciousness + Culture).
✅ Gain insights into leadership development frameworks based on industry best practices.
✅ Improve self-awareness through guided questions and leadership assessments.
✅ Explore different leadership styles and approaches based on provided scenarios.
Examples of proper use:
✔ “How can I become a more effective listener in leadership meetings?”
✔ “What techniques can help me manage a high-performing but difficult team member?”
✔ “Can you provide strategies for leading through uncertainty?”
4. Prohibited Uses of the AI Coaching Assistant
Users must NOT use the AI Coaching Assistant for any of the following:
⛔ 4.1 Decision-Making in HR, Employment, or Performance Reviews
❌ The AI Coaching Assistant must not be used to:
- Determine hiring, firing, promotion, or salary decisions.
- Evaluate or assess employee performance, competency, or behavior.
- Provide managerial advice on terminating employees.
Example of prohibited use:
🚫 “Should I promote [Employee Name] based on their last project?”
⛔ 4.2 Legal, Financial, or HR Policy Advice
❌ The AI Coaching Assistant must not be used for:
- Legal, contractual, or financial guidance.
- Workplace policy interpretation, labor laws, or compliance decisions.
- Employee dispute resolution, grievance handling, or workplace investigations.
Example of prohibited use:
🚫 “Can I terminate an employee based on this policy?”
⛔ 4.3 Psychological, Mental Health, or Personal Therapy
❌ The AI Coaching Assistant is not a mental health professional and must not be used for:
- Diagnosing or treating mental health conditions.
- Providing crisis intervention or counseling services.
- Addressing personal trauma, anxiety, depression, or emotional distress.
Example of prohibited use:
🚫 “I am feeling extremely overwhelmed—what should I do?”
⛔ 4.4 Entering or Sharing Confidential or Personal Information
❌ Users must not input:
- Personally identifiable information (PII) such as full names, addresses, phone numbers, or employee records.
- Proprietary business data, corporate strategies, or classified company insights.
- Any information that could compromise workplace confidentiality.
Example of prohibited use:
🚫 “What leadership style works best for [Employee Name]?”
5. Violation of the AI Code of Conduct
📌 Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:
- Temporary or permanent restriction from using the AI Coaching Assistant.
- Notification to ULA administrators regarding inappropriate AI engagement.
- Escalation to leadership or compliance teams in cases of repeated misuse.
📌 If you believe AI responses have provided inaccurate or biased advice:
- Report it immediately via the ULA AI Feedback Channel.
- Seek human review from a leadership coach or mentor before acting on AI insights.
6. User Acknowledgment & Agreement
✅ By using your AI Coaching Assistant, you agree to:
✔ Engage with AI ethically, responsibly, and professionally.
✔ Use AI for learning and development, not decision-making or policy enforcement.
✔ Seek human guidance when AI insights require further validation.
✔ Protect confidentiality and respect AI’s data privacy boundaries.
